We're Here!

It's 7:10 p.m., Friday (Sept. 12) in Beijing. We just got back from a wonderful family-style meal of cold beef with garlic infused vinegar, bamboo shoots in a teriyaki type sauce, spicy pork with bamboo shoots and a huge bowl of dumplings. Yes, Shaggy, I took a picture of the dumplings for you. Who loves ya, baby?! We are exhausted. Bone-tired in a way I haven't been since the kids were newborns. Too tired to accurately summarize all we've experienced today. We've had a ton of cool things happen, but we'll elaborate at our next post.

So, we are here. We are safe. Beijing is huge. It's beautiful and our hotel is very plush. The traffic is enough to keep me in a constant state of repentance and contrition.

We are exhausted. We are actually turning in right now. Tomorrow we hit the Summer Palace, Ti'anemen Square, and I think a street market. That'll be really fun to share with you all. Here's some pictures of our journey so far. Shaggy, don't drool on the keyboard, you'll need to keep it dry so you can send love notes, I mean emails, to Mommy while she's in China!

I'm so relieved that you got there safely and that you have good stories to tell. Looking forward to hearing more! Have fun and try to get some rest:)
Love ya!

So glad to hear you made it safe and sound! Enjoy your day soaking it all in - China is amazing!!! Have fun on your two day date with the Boss - you'd never indulge in an adventure like this at home so enjoy every minute of it.... Oh yes, and hope your reading this AFTER 4 AM. My ol' EST internal clock was a bugger and never did fully reset - in China I went to bed late and woke up early - reallllly early!! ~ Vonda

Glad to hear ya'll arrived 'intact'! Can't wait to hear what you think about the square and 'the wall' - no to mention the rest of what you are about to experience! I don't recall if you mentioned - but if you get a chance to take in the acrobatics show - we thought it was well worth it!

You warned Shaggy not to drool, but you didn't warn the rest of us. Those dumplings look fantastic.
I'm lunchtime in the laundry pile and I'm hungry.

So glad that you're there. Was praying for you. Can't wait to read more of your journey.
