Another Gotcha Day!

Head over to my bloggy friend's place, MississippiZen. They are a family I found through one of the adoption forums I joined and I've been following their story very closely. For a while it looked as if we'd be traveling at the same time, with a chance for a face-to-face meet up across the seas. But they left last week (two days early to escape Hurricane Gustav's fury) to get their beautiful little Raegan. Today is their first day together as a family of 6.

While you are there, drop them a line and let them know you are praying for them. They will be coming home to whatever Hurricane Gustav and now Hurricane Ike have left behind in their wakes. Of course, those are all just things and nothing matters as much as those 4 sweet children in their arms. But right now, there are still unknowns about the coming storm.

And how cute is that new little Mississippian?! Oh My Goodness!

Dear girl,

I am a Mississippi adoptive mom (following Margie's blog) and came across your blog. I read your post about leaving the kids home when you travel to China. We traveled to China last November to get our, then, 6 year old daughter. We left our three other children at home. I am 38 years old. Leaving them home was the hardest thing I have ever lived through. Yet, for many reasons, it is what we felt was best. And, God took such good care of them. While we were gone, I realized how utterly dependent on Him I am. Sweet girl, it will be hard, but it will be good. God will be with you AND he will be with your little ones back home. I will be praying specifically for peace and grace for you.

Take care,
Betsy Burge

Hey - Marlee and I will be praying for you over these next few days and weeks. I have imagined what it will be like the moment you set eyes on your daughter and the hugs and kisses...I can't wait to see her and hug her myself. I wish you both well. Love ya.

That is the sweetest little scrunched up nose I've ever seen.
