Wordless Wednesday - sorta

 First Day of Pre-School

Not so sure she wants to go in...

 "Mommy, you tay wi meee?"

Matching the letters in her name
distracted her for a few minutes.

Before she fell apart.
And screamed wildly.
S.C.R.E.A.M.E.D.
And tried to climb over the shoulders
of the teacher who was holding her while I left.
I have no pictures of that.
I was trying too hard not to cry
as I walked. Away.

For more Wordless Wednesday fun,
head over to 5 Minutes for Mom.

*Updated: The teacher said it took 45 minutes for her to
stop crying and freaking out. Then another couple minutes
to stop the "fake crying" to see if the teacher was serious.
Yeah, she was totally testing the teacher.
Welcome to my world :)

Awww!!! How heart wrenching.

There is a little boy at kindergarten who is crying every day too. I think it ends up okay though. Just another 100 minutes till you pick her up right?

Oh, Trac, I. AM. SO. SORRY!!!! We didn't have the shoulder climbing this morning, but like I told you earlier, we had tears. And the reaching for you. And the pleeding. And THE. LOOK. I had abandonment memories flash through my mind that weren't even mine but those that I must imagine are hers. I felt like the scum between my (well, someone else's) toes. My heart broke!!!! I'm there too....right there with you! But you know what? I think our girls are stronger than we are. Look what they've been through. Look how wonderful and amazing and smart and beautiful and adjusted and trusting they are. And the bottom line....He's got them, right in His big old hand, loving them and whispering in their ear when we're finally out of sight....Your momma loves you and so do I. She'll be back. This momma will never leave you, I promise. She loves you almost as much as I do. She'll be back!

OK. I read all five of your pre-school posts and they were very helpful. Thank you for sharing all your thoughts. ( I am also working through the whole pre-school thing and thinking it will be good for Maggie to go to two year old PRE-SCHOOL next year).
I am sure the tears will stop soon and your daughter will love her new school !

Morning Traci - well - yeah I'm sorry that she was a little (or a lot depending on your point of view) freaked....but....it's cool to see that she tried on her teacher! Makes ya kinda just want to love her eh? I mean - she's got some 'spunk'...;) And who can't love a child that loves her mom! But still, it's tough to get through, yeah...

hugs - aus and co.

What sweet photos! I'm so sorry you had to go through such a difficult transition with her, but I'm happy to hear that she's doing better now.
