Overheard recently in our home, amidst the sounds of carols and the smells of baking. . .
Momma: "I LOVE Christmas baking season!"
Shaggy, in the exact same tone: "I LOVE Christmas eating season!"
Shaggy, in the exact same tone: "I LOVE Christmas eating season!"
And later, when telling The Boss about my first day of baking . . .
Shaggy: "Did you SEE the list of things she's baking this Christmas?"
Yes, I wrote a list. It's a sickness, I know.
The Boss: "No, what's she making this year? Same stuff as normal, right?"
Shaggy: "The roster is amazing!"
Shaggy: "The roster is amazing!"
When biting into his first taste of Christmas baking . . .
Shaggy: "Mmmm, these are so soft and delicious. Like little bits of Heaven in my mouth."
At this point, he didn't need anyone else in the conversation.
He was doing just fine by himself!

Love, love, love it....your family and your roster!!!!!!!!!
We're 'getting to' the baking season - mostly next week - but it's the candy that is the best....it takes a good 3 hours of constant stirring (we work in shifts) to make caramel - but worth every drop of sweat! Then there's the peanut brittle, divinity (which requires a cold dry low humidity day or it will flop), all kinds of stuff like that.
But mostly it's the kids being there helping - that's the fun part!
hugs - aus and co.
totally fabulous! I love it and I must admit that I get the same, warm, gooey feeling in my tummy when eating the first cookies of the season from mom.
Shaggy sounds like the Tongginator's kind of person. I'm convinced she loves cooking and baking so much because she loves eating it all even more!
