There is some stuff you can pick up at the pharmacy -- we have a name for it in the horse world that starts with an "I" and sounds like ichmathol (bad speller). In the everyday world its drawing salve. Goop it on -- put on band aid. It should draw out the splinter. My mom used it alllll the time.
