Please Pray

For the past three days, Aidan has been battling a stuffy runny nose. We knew to expect this, as the change over to air-conditioned air can be very hard on a baby's sinuses. But now she is coughing a full, icky cough. She has slept through the majority of the coughing the first two nights, but of course Todd and I have not slept well at all.

Last night, it got so bad we had to steam up the bathroom and stand in it with her for about 1/2 hour. I gave her a mini-dose of Benadryl and she finally fell into a sound sleep until about 5 a.m.

But this morning, she's coughing again and slightly feverish. She's a bit out of sorts but still pretty pleasant. However, our doctor from CHOP has advised us to seek treatment for her. It is essential that we guard against ear infections in her hearing ear and imperative that the congestion be dealt with so we can safely fly her to Guangzhou on Tuesday.

Please, pray for our baby girl. It grieves us to see her so uncomfortable and we are wiped out.

Praying right now for baby girl Aidan! Father God, I pray a healing on Aidan right now, touch her body, give her rest, peace, and comfort. Help her nose to clear up, and there will be no symptoms before their flight on Tuesday. We pray the Dr. would give correct diagnosis and treatment. In Jesus name, Amen.

They have Johnson and Johnson lotion that has Vick's vapor rub and I was able to find it while in China as our daughter too had a respiratory infection while we were there. Also it may help to keep her in really heavy pajamas, one thing we did was put our daughter in shorts and a T shirt and they are use to being layered especially for sleeping. True to this day, our daughter sleeps in feet pajamas in the summer. I will be praying for her health and a quick recovery.

Wishing your family calm during this tough time. Ian had a similar cough and congestion when we picked him up and we had Zithromax with us, from our Pediatrician. It did a great job of getting rid of his upper respiratory thing in about 3 days...just quick enough to arrive in Guangzhou happy and healthy....but also gave it right to me just in time for the ride home. Honestly. If they'll give you Zithromax, that's what our Int'l Adoption Ped gave us and it worked like a charm.

I am so sorry. Lily had the same exact symptoms that got progressively worse during our first few days with her. I finally started her on amox and it didn't do a thing. When we got home our ped put her on augmentin, which thankfully does work for sinus infections, and she was better right away. I SO wish I would have had some with us in China so she wasn't sick the whole time we were there.

I'll pray Aidan gets better with the measures you're taking, and that you'd get clear guidance if you're to change course. Being sick is so not fun, and I'm hoping your teariness isn't the beginnings of you being sick too (that's sometimes how it happens for me). Praying for you guys!

Hope Aidan feels better soon. Poor baby and poor family. It is tough already and then to have your baby not feel good can make it feel unbearable. We are praying for you all.

Sorry she's not feeling well. I spent the morning running on the treadmill followed by laundry and running errands. Then spent the afternoon with our new pastor's wife and the youth pastor's wife. I'm sure you can guess how awesome I think that was! We went apple pickin'! Hope Aidan feels better soon. Read the update...looks likes it! Praying for you and Boss!
